Made for Our Family is an interactive children’s book series inspired by Kim's seven grandchildren and the special ways each one joined the family. Serving at a local pregnancy center for many years, Kim performed pregnancy tests, sat in on numerous early pregnancy ultrasounds, and mentored hundreds of young parents as they prepared for a new family member. Passionate about pregnancy, birth, and early parenting, Kim has written this series to help parents teach their little ones about the journey from early pregnancy to the childhood years.

Each book gently guides children through real-life family experiences with warmth, clarity, and respect for God’s design. From ultrasounds and trimesters to unexpected births and blended families, these stories help children understand that every life is intentional in God's sight and every family can be a place of love, grace, and belonging.

Books in the series include:

• ​The Big Surprise! – Pregnancy from a child’s point of view, including fetal development, Mommy’s morning sickness, and how God forms life from the very beginning.

• The Birth That Shook the Earth! – Why names matter, how families choose them, and how each of us can also become a child of God—with a surprising birth and a gospel-centered moment featuring Paul and Silas.

• Sharing My Name, Sharing My Mom! – What it’s like to share a parent with a new baby in the family or to be named after someone, thus “sharing” a name. Explores individuality, navigating emotions and adjusting to change in growing families.

• TWINS! – Twice the baby, twice the questions. This story unpacks twin pregnancies, preemie care, what it means to be a twin, and how siblings can build unique bonds with twins.

• The Big Reveal Party! – How families celebrate a baby’s gender, meet younger siblings, and grow in kindness, helpfulness, and safety awareness around little ones.

• Born at Home! – Midwives, contractions, nesting, C-sections, and a modern Christmas birth meet the biblical account of Jesus’ birth—showing how some babies are born at home or in a unique setting.​

 

These books explore the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a new sibling, from the thrill of becoming a big brother or sister to the realities of hospital stays, home births, and morning sickness, the series gently walks children through the many aspects of a growing family—all from a traditionally Christian and pro-life perspective. Future titles will explore adoption, foster care, and what it means to be chosen, loved, and placed in a family by God.
